Dog Friendly 3BR/2BA with Loft and Mountain Views

Honestly, somewhat mixed feelings from our group. Positives: Very dog-friendly space. The hosts seem very responsive and dedicated to keeping up a nice little all-season getaway. The surrounding area was quite beautiful in the fall, view was better than expected, and the condo complex is pleasant and peaceful, and has grassy areas to potty the dogs easily. The loft was particularly nice, and there were a lot of pleasant touches. Slightly disappointing: The downstairs bedrooms could have used more attention. One had 4-5 yellowjackets in it and more returned the next day even after we removed them. The main bedroom also had some small stains on the bedsheets/pillowcases and on the floor near the bathroom. The mattresses also weren't very soft/comfortable in those two rooms. The space was a tad smaller and less modern than expected from the pics. To be fair, we didn't address these issues with the hosts, who would likely have come by to fix, b/c we didn't want to upset the pups.

We loved being able to walk to the lake and hike around on that trail. It was nice to be able to walk down to the gas station for odds and ends as well. My kids loved having the loft area to themselves to play.

Beautiful condo just as pictured. Quiet location with beautiful vista. Close to walking paths around Lake Laura. Near Community Store that has great selection of fresh foods, deli meats and cheeses, beer and lots of other stuff! Only could spend the night and wish we could have extended our stay. Josh & Becky are super hosts, who quickly respond to all questions. Highly recommend a stay at this lovely place!

We had a very relaxing girls weekend at The Hill Hideaway! The condo was clean, very comfortable and had everything we needed kitchen wise. Josh and Becky were very helpful and quick to respond. We would definitely go back for another visit!

We were looking for a brief getaway outside of D.C. for some peaceful surroundings, nice hikes, and quality time with our dog. Our stay hit the mark! Josh and Becky were extremely communicative, providing clear directions to their condo, things to do (hikes, orchards, sights), and places to get groceries a bit further vs quick items at the convenience store within walking distance. It was also really lovely and extremely pet friendly, even with a doggy day bed with some toys to make our pup excited to be in this new place. I would definitely come back and stay with them again :)

We loved our stay! It was a great value and tons of space for our family. The updated interior was spotless and cozy. Josh and Becky were probably the most responsive hosts I’ve ever interacted with, responding within minutes. Though in the summer there wasn’t too much in the immediate area, I prefer it because it was central to many of the activities we wanted to do within 30 minutes of the Airbnb. Right at the bottom of the hill is a general store, ice cream shop, bar, brewery and restaurant with live music that was perfect and walkable!

We had a wonderful stay at Jack and Becky’s place. The cabin is spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials. We especially enjoyed our morning coffee, which was provided, while sitting on the outdoor deck and taking in the gorgeous mountain views. There are also many dog-friendly locations nearby, including a brewery that is just a 2-minute walk from the cabin. My kids and dogs loved the relaxing and scenic stroll around Lake Luara. Overall, we had a fantastic trip!

The place was wonderful, and the location was perfect! My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at Josh & Beckey’s—and even our German Shepherd had a fantastic time!

My partner and I had an exceptional stay at the cabin hosted by Josh and Becky. We booked very last minute (had been rerouted from OBX after a mandatory evacuation from the hurricane) but we are so happy we were able to find this little cabin. Airbnb called it a “great find” citing it is often booked, and great find was quite the understatement. The cabin was exactly what we hoped for. It matches the description perfectly and we had a comfortable and wonderful stay. We are already hoping to come back, this time accompanied by our two dogs. Thank you Josh and Becky! Had an amazing time at this cozy spot, Josh and Becky are super responsive and communicative and the place was fully stocked with everything we could have needed. Sipping coffee on that balcony is as magical as it looks!

A very cozy space perfect for any season. Owner’s made sure there was an extra unit for A/C upstairs so we could stay cool despite the summer heat. The owner’s themselves were very helpful and friendly as well as incredibly quick to respond to any questions. The place itself had a view from the balcony that faced the mountains. It was lovely to spend evenings out there especially with the provided citronella candle to keep pests away. One of my personal favorite aspects was the wood-burning fireplace with clear instructions and logs for use. All in all a lovely place to escape into the peace of the mountains for a while.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful condo near Shenandoah! The check-in process was incredibly easy and smooth. The home was spotless and well-maintained, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It’s in a fantastic location—close to lots of great local spots, restaurants, and attractions. Cozy cabin like feel in a condo resort, great space for a family of 4 with 2 dogs. Choose this location in the summer to breakup a long car trip for an overnight stay (close to 81). We walked Lake Laura straight from the door! Hosts were great, responsive and provided a comprehensive list of things to do. Would stay again if in the area!

We stayed here while I was helping out at Shrinemont. The place was very clean, quiet, and spacious. The shower was absolutely great. The kitchen has everything you need. When the power went out due to a storm, the hosts immediately reached out to us. We were up and running before the evening was over, but it was still quite nice of them to check in right away. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a reliable place near Bryce or Shrinemont.

This feels like a private cabin even though it's part of a condo. Beautiful view of the mountains and relatively easy walk to the Lake Laura loop trail. We come to Bryce in winter for snowboarding and summer for biking and have previously stayed at the condos on the mountain - we much preferred the spaciousness, comfort, and privacy of this airbnb. We loved eating dinner/getting icecream and walking back to the unit (some is uphill, but a nice little workout!) Very peaceful and quiet. Loved how basics like handsoap, laundry detergent, shampoo, wash, and conditioner were available to guests. Would love to return!

We loved our stay at Josh and Becky's place. Our young adult son and two dogs joined us for a last-minute trip to the mountains during a heat wave. The house is located up a hill in a quiet and well-maintained condo development. The view from the balcony was lovely and calming. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were comfy. Apple and Bambi appreciated the dog bowls, beds and toys! There is a small lake within walking distance and a beach where you can rent SUPs, kayaks, paddle boats and floats. Josh and Becky had a bunch of promising recommendations on things to do and where to eat, but we just ended up going down the hill to the two eateries nearby - Pale Fire Brewery and the Burn Barrel. The beer at both spots was excellent; we loved the pizza at the brewery and the local feel of the Burn Barrel. We also liked the frozen custard stand in between. On our way back, we stopped at the Route 11 potato chip factory in Mt Jackson - fun! (And freshly-made chips to sample)

I didn’t know I needed this place until I stepped inside. It’s comfy and quiet and I loved sitting on the porch staring at the fog sitting on the mountain tops. The house was fully doggo equipped and our hosts were very cool when our dog made a chew toy of the door handle (sorry again btw). Humans and dog give it a 10/10. Excellent mental health escape.

Great property and amazing hosts 🤍 great central location to Shenandoah national Park, as well as Seneca rocks and various other hiking trails in the area.

The cabin at Basye was what we were looking for to do a short staycation. We stopped at some great places along the way and the cabin was very cozy, nice and clean! The cabin was stocked well with games, kitchen ware and even Keurig K cups which was nice, even though we brought a couple just in case. Becky and Josh were super responsive and very nice! We wish we could have stayed longer but would love to come back.

Really appreciated that they had ALL the comforts of home at their home. Made our lives easy with our kids there, especially the washer and dryer with detergent! They had everything you could think of! The restaurant and ice cream shop down the hill was a life saver and so family oriented, really helped when we didn’t want to drive far to eat. The hosts communicated quickly and made sure we had as much information about the surrounding area as possible. The Airbnb was spaced out so well that everyone had their own little peace of heaven to hang out in and still come together for family time. They recommend hitting the grocery store for cooking meals at the Airbnb, we highly recommend that as well. Driving at night to go to dinner or coming back from dinner, you have to be especially cautious because the roads are windy and there are no lights. This Airbnb was better than expected and so comfy. Loved it!

We only stayed for the night as we were driving back to PA from Tennessee. But Virginia is absolutely beautiful! The view from the deck is pretty, just wish we would have been able to enjoy the area a bit more. But the time we were there was cozy. Everything was so clean which is kind of hard to find these days! Im all about that! We had a wonderful and relaxing mother's day weekend away in this cozy condo. Beds and pillows were comfy for us to sleep in and nap. We really enjoyed simply hanging out, crafting and reading books our entire stay amongst the beautiful views. The mini store close by came in handy when we forgot an ingredient for our dinner.

Incredible! From the beautiful scenery outside to the cleanliness inside, this stay was 100% worth the trip. We had a wonderful time relaxing and enjoying the views at Josh and Becky’s. The name “hideaway” is very accurate — though easy to access, it is peaceful and feels private. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were so comfy! We would definitely come back the next time we need a relaxing vacation.

Josh and Becky's place was comfortable and quiet (we visited in the offseason). Lake Laura was just a few minutes' drive away and we loved walking around the lake and seeing folks walking and fishing.

Me and my girlfriend had a very lovely weekend away at this very homey condo. The place was very comfortable felt right at home. We cooked a bunch while we were there and they had plenty of kitchen utensils to support us.

Josh and Becky's place was beyond our expectations, very comfortable, great views from the balcony, fireplace available, everything was clean. The hosts reached out and made sure we had detailed directions beforehand and then followed up to see if we needed anything. We truly felt pampered. We visited White Oak Canyon Falls, an easy hike. Already planning our next trip!

Great home, amazing hosts, very good location for Bryce resort proximity! We wanted my 3 yo niece to experience snow for the first time and Bryce was a great place for that, only 5 min drive from the house. We had an amazing time at the resort and very relaxing time at the house. The games were a hit with the baby. The fire place very cozy for all. The water pressure is a bit too strong for me, but amazing. I wish the upstairs shower was a bit bigger, but great to have 2 bathrooms! Unfortunately my dog heard gunshots at a distance and had anxiety for hours when we first arrived. Loft is very comfortable but bright in the morning, easy to wake up lol. The area doesn’t have too many dinning options but we did try pizza at Swover Farms and Brewery ~17 min (host recommendation) and breakfast at Flour & Water Co ~30 min. The community store is walking distance we tried pizza there too. Hosts were very flexible with checkin/checkout times, very communicative and quick to reply. Loved it!

This is a gem! My boys were thrilled with the loft, they rarely get along and opted to stay in the loft together. We adored all the cabin touches. A small fire place for a cozy evening, hot chocolate, popcorn, and so many puzzles and game for family time. We disconnected and spent time together and that was the idea for our family. We spent the day in Bryce tubing and due to fault of our own skipped skiing. We also checked out Luray caverns and Route 11 potato chip factory. Quick little escape from DC metro area to relax and recharge.

Beautiful home and wonderful hosts! It is obvious that Josh and Becky have put so much thought and care into their place. It has everything you could think of and more. We brought things from home just in case and never unpacked them because it was already there. All the instructions and guides they provided were so helpful. We had a wonderful time the entire weekend and barely left the property. We've already discussed going back next year. Thank you Josh and Becky!

Hosts were very gracious in allowing us to come in a day early to avoid forecasted heavy snowfall. Unit met description and the added kitchen and cooking accoutrements proved very helpful during our stay. Beautiful overlook of the mountains was a joy to watch the sunrise each morning. Small assortment of toys, board games, and puzzles provided were a nice touch for our family activities. Also traveled to some parks area during our stay. Would come again.

We had such a cozy night here. This was our first pet-friendly Airbnb experience and I was pleasantly surprised by how impeccably clean the condo was. Josh and Becky were wonderful hosts. From their communication in the app to the amenities in the condo, it was clear they thought of everything! All human and canine guests were very happy here and would stay again.

The cabin has two full bathrooms (one on each floor) with outstanding water pressure, better than most big hotels. Josh and Becky were incredibly communicative, quick to respond, and very welcoming. There’s plenty of space for a family of six, plus dogs are welcome—they even provided dog bowls and toys. Overall, an amazing stay, and we’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay at this AirBnb. The hosts communicated quickly and the place was clean and cozy; I felt right at home. I made use of the balcony for morning coffee and used the fireplace in the evenings. The gas station right next door was very well stocked and had lots of food, drinks and other supplies. Lake Laura has a 2 mile loop that I did a couple times a day. Perfect escape from the city and hope to be back.

These are the type of vacation rental hosts everyone hopes for... very responsive, super helpful, and always available, if needed. They show genuine care for their guests, which is evident in all of the extra amenities the place has to offer and their communication as well. This rental was great. It was clean, everything we needed was provided, plus it came with an amazing view. It was a little out of the way from where we were visiting, but the drive back and forth was gorgeous and went by quickly so it was definitely worth it. This would be a great place to stay for a longer visit than we had time for. I would have loved to check out the immediate area.

This was a great place to escape to for a getaway from our home in Northern Virginia. Beautiful surroundings and comfy beds! The showers were nice and hot. Everything was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked for all of our cooking needs. And our dog felt like a king in these accommodations with little special touches for him, too!

The condo was even better than the pictures that represented it! The location was wonderful. The view from the balcony was just beautiful and was a great spot for relaxing around the table or sitting on the couch. The house was spotless, very well organized, and had everything that you could think of that you could need. The beds were extremely comfortable! The hosts were super to communicate with and very helpful with all of their information and suggestions of places to see, eat and visit. This was a mini vacation for my husband and I, with our two adult children, but it felt like home each time we came into the condo. We made some very special memories, and I do believe that having a place to stay that's welcoming and perfect, plays into those memories a lot. This was an adorable idea unit. Decor was stylish and comfortable. Cozy blankets! Clean and had everything one would need. We weren’t there much only at night but we had a very nice stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Josh and Becky's condo. It was exactly what we wanted - quiet, peaceful, within walking distance to a swimming lake and a walking trail, and had a gorgeous view of the mountains. We appreciated how clean and comfortable everything was, and how thoughtfully they laid out everything we would need. There were plenty of cooking utensils and good knives (rare in AirBnbs!). Internet speed was powerfully fast which made it easy for us to work remotely, and having two levels in the condo meant that we each had the privacy we needed for work calls. Stairs to the upper level are steep, which may be an issue for the elderly, but we were ok with it. The condo is also walking distance from a brewery with pizzas, a community store, and a gas station, but that is all there is in Bayse, so plan accordingly and bring all groceries/provisions with you, as we did, in multiple coolers. This was exactly the relaxing stay we were looking for, and we will definitely be back.

SO responsive & accommodating! From being flexible on check in time, to having a baby monitor rush shipped so we didn't have to worry while we were there, these guys are great!! it made our vacation with kids that much less crazy 🤪. The condo has everything you need to enjoy a nice getaway. The view from the balcony was beautiful & being able to walk to a brewery, mini golf, ice cream & restaurant was HUGE. We loved it!

Great dog-friendly space, and being close to Shenandoah and Luray Caverns was appealing for us. We enjoyed having a convenience store and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Everything was clean when we arrived and looked just like the pictures; we were quite satisfied with our stay.

What a retreat! The lush mountains were a beautiful setting for an escape. We enjoyed the balcony view. A small local brewery and ice cream shop steps away were a nice way to finish our day. It was quiet and peaceful despite having these nearby. We loved it.

Unbelievable 5 star experience. The location was incredibly peaceful and private, with soothing cicadas and soft breezes at night and warm light in the mornings. Coffee on the deck should not be missed, as you’re eye level with the tree tops and have a stunning view of the mountains and wildlife all around you. We not only saw eagles circling overhead, but goldfinches and woodpeckers fly by as the sun rose. Nearby you can find tons of hiking on quiet trails, swimming and fishing at the lake, camping, and a solid pizza/beer/soft serve spot just down the hill. Our hosts were super responsive and helpful. Overall our experience was perfect - just what we needed to get away and enjoy the outdoors with great company and a beautiful stay. Couldn’t recommend highly enough; will definitely be back!

Our stay at Josh and Becky’s was amazing! Perfect getaway for a group of friends and very dog friendly as well. The kitchen was perfect and well equipped for cooking our meals, the balcony offered such panoramic views of the mountains, and the place was a perfect base as we were spending the weekend hiking Shenandoah National Park. Felt right at home. Josh and Becky’s hide away was exactly that. Was tucked away in the mountain with a convenient Community store down the hill that basically had all you needed for drinks snacks and food. A cozy place to do absolutely nothing or explore caves, wineries or go for a swim at the lake. We were only there for 2 nights but enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks Josh and Becky

Josh and Becky’s home is beautiful. My boyfriend and I brought our corgi down to take a break from the city and felt so at home. The home is beautifully decorated and if you are into cooking, they have every gadget you can think of! Their communications were impeccable and they were so proactive from the time we booked to the time we checked out. They also had a dog bed, food/water bowls, and toys aplenty for our pup, Winnie. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and have nothing but positive things to say about our experience with Josh and Becky. Thanks again!

The listing came up as a cabin. In spite of the fact that it is a condo, there was plenty of space for the 6 of us. It felt private even with the other condos above and beside us. The home was beautiful and clean. Josh and Becky were very responsive and helpful. Had a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our mother daughter weekend. On our down time we played Yahtzee, and enjoyed the Mountain View from the balcony.

The Hill Hideaway was exactly as described. The kitchen was well appointed and the furnishings were very comfortable. My dog and I felt right at home. I am always grateful when hosts provide a beautiful, clean, and save property for individuals traveling with pets. Josh and Becky were extremely responsive and included very clear instructions to locate the property. I will return for sure!

Josh and Becky were the most accommodating couple I’ve ever met!!!! They let me back inside the unit when I forgot my planner! They also allowed us to check in later when it was hard to get the kiddos out the door! Definitely 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a private place with plenty of room! My sister truly enjoyed her Mother’s Day and we got to celebrate the 1 year of my brothers passing happily! Definitely would recommend to anyone!!!

We had a great 2 night stay to visit my cousins who live nearby. Made use of the games provided and used the wine cooler. Nearby restaurant and grocery store. Took an adventuresome walk around lake. From the condo it’s a 3 mile walk. Beautiful views from condo we ate breakfast and listened to the birds on the deck. Everything you need is provided from coffee, hot cocoa, shampoo, laundry detergent and popcorn.

We enjoyed our stay to the fullest! Cozy, clean, and a wonderful view. We plan to come back to Basye and will look to see if Josh and Becky's rental is available. Our dog was very happy to find a ball available for him to play with. The first place we've stayed that offered something for him. Nice added touch!

This was a great condo to escape to; There's a lovely balcony with mountain views; you can walk to Lake Laura or Pale Fire Brewing, and it was a great place to telework for a week and go on evening and weekend mini-adventures. Easy to cook or go out, plus good wifi and coffee! Josh and Becky were quite communicative and helpful through the app - it was a great week.

I can’t say enough great things about this place!! Let me tell you, there are so many thoughtful and welcomed little extra amenities! From the dog stuff to the human stuff, they thought of everything that anyone would want in a cabin. The decor was exactly my kind of style for a cabin. Very clean, and the bedding was very comfortable. It was a cute little townhouse with all the kitchen things that you need. We took advantage of the games, hot chocolate, and coffee that were provided as a part of the place. It was super easy to find and relatively quiet for a condo complex. We will definitely be coming back!

This was one of the best homes we've stayed at as a family with 2 young kids and a dog. They have so many amenities provided and thought of everything which made settling in so easy. Everything was there from the dog bed & bowls to the toys & games for the kids. This was our first time to the area and they let us know about the small corner store that was walkable nearby, if needed, but we brought most of our groceries as we knew things would be limited in Basye. There are a couple of new restaurants walkable as well that were ok. It will be nice in the summer cause they have mini golf and an ice cream shop there too. The ski resort is just 5 min away and so fun for the littles. Everybody there was so friendly and helpful. Back to Josh & Becky's condo, the beds and blankets were very comfortable, the place was just as described, and everything was very clean. We can't wait to visit again soon!

We had a lovely stay in Bayse. The condo is within walking distance from Lake Laura and a short drive up the road to Bryce Resort which made travel a breeze. The house had every accommodation we could ask for, plus a few perks we didn’t expect link free coffee and fireball shots, dog toys, kid toys and plenty of games. Made for the perfect nighttime activities for our friends, dog and toddler.

This was a great weekend trip for me and my family. We even got some snow for the full cabin-like experience. The restaurants available are decent nothing to crazy. Communication with Josh & Becky 10/10 which I greatly appreciated. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and would stay again to check out the resort a little more for activities.

Josh and Becky have a lovely home and have obviously taken great care to make their guests feel welcome. I would love to stay with them again.

This was the perfect condo for our mini family ski vacation. I and my boys loved staying here and enjoyed the coziness and cleanliness of this place. It was exactly as described and super clean. It had everything we needed. My favorite part was the fireplace and the cozy fluffy blankets and my boys loved the loft. Josh was also super friendly and responsive, 5 star host! Perfect spot for a one night hiking getaway with our adult children. Everything was as described and with plenty of space for four of us. It's a quiet location in a beautiful part of Virginia. The kitchen was well-supplied. We enjoyed the fire place and board games!

We wanted to get away for a few days and this was the perfect location. It was quiet, and the home was welcoming. The host communicated well and went above to ensure we had a great stay. We recommend this home, especially if you have kids or a dog.

The perfect getaway! Cute cabin with a loft to cozy in with the family or get some space and read a book. Josh and Becky's place had all the amenities one would need for a comfortable stay. Our favorites were the board games and the tea and coffee selections. The cabin also has the best views of the mountain, it snowed during our stay and Chow Chow pup had the time of her life on the patio.

We really enjoyed our stay at Josh & Becky's place. We didn't want to leave so they helped us extend our stay. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were so comfortable with extra soft cozy blankets. The views from the deck are breathtaking! It was perfect for watching the Geminid Meteor shower! An amazing place to study great weekend get away!!

I had a great time at Josh and Becky’s place. It was exactly what I needed to get out of the city and spend a few days around nature. The place was clean and comfortable and my dog and I had an excellent time. Will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay—it’s nice and spacious, had gorgeous views, well-equipped, it felt private and we loved getting to escape the city. Bedrooms were gorgeous, beds were comfy, we had a lovely movie night with the soft blankets, and the patio is lovely.

Our quick family getaway to The Hill Hideaway was fantastic! Josh & Becky were spectacular hosts - they have thought of every little detail to make this a home away from home. The kids loved movie night in front of the fireplace & sleeping up in the loft. We really loved the close proximity (walking!) to Lake Laura for hiking, and the Shenandoah Caverns (about 20 mins) for a great rainy day activity.
